Now You’re Talking Therapy are a purpose driven organisation based in Manchester, providing a wide range of professional counselling services for a growing number of people all over the country.
The NYT website includes a therapists directory, eCommerce booking system as well as login areas for both therapists and clients to manage their profiles and appointments.
We were tasked with redeveloping their website using the existing branding and layouts inherited from the previous design agency into a performant and reliable booking platform for their business.

Performance and usability improvements
When we took over managing the NYT website we were asked to address 3 main areas of improvement:
- Making it easier for the NYT team to make content updates which we did by rebuilding the theme around the native WordPress Gutenberg page builder.
- We also rebuilt the therapists area on the frontend of the site creating more seamless experience for therapists to manage their bookings and profile pages.
- The old version of the site was somewhat sluggish and slow to load. By employing our range of low-carbon web design techniques we were able to improve the page speed by approximately 300% across the site! These performance improvements also moved the website carbon footprint rating from an E to a B on the Website Carbon Calculator which we incredibly proud of.
